I decided to paint the real face of Santa to honor his feast day, which was Friday. St. Nicolas was from Asia Minor, Myra which is now Turkey. He was a kind many giving and helping where ever he went. He died dec 06, his feast day. He is the saint of children and also sailors. This was done with a lot of research. I looked at orthodox and old Christian relic paintings and 2 archeologists views. He has a crooked nose, because it was broken during imprisonment. He spent many years in prison and suffered for his belief.
